We are currently building a complete data platform in AWS from the ground up for a major oil & gas company in Argentina. This is a greenfield opportunity with high technical and business impact.
The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer you will be a key technical leader on this project. You will own the architecture and implementation of the modern data stack on AWS, while also helping us evolve our platform-building methodology, data product strategy, and internal tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the full modern data stack using Terraform + meltano/dlt + dbt + Airflow on AWS.
- Build scalable, observable, and cost-efficient ingestion, transformation, and orchestration layers.
- Model complex oil & gas domains (wells, production, logistics, regulatory data, etc.).
- Actively contribute to improving Blueprint Data’s blueprints, tools, and best practices.
- Mentor client teams and ensure smooth knowledge transfer and ownership.
Requirements
Must-Have
- 5+ years of data engineering experience, with strong production experience building modern data stacks.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Terraform, Meltano (or Singer), dbt, and Apache Airflow.
- Strong AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, IAM, S3, cost optimization, etc.).
- Software engineering mindset applied to data (Git, CI/CD, testing, IaC, monorepos).
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
Nice-to-Have
- Oil & Gas / Energy domain experience.
- Open-source contributions (taps, dbt packages, Airflow providers, etc.).
- Experience with self-serve analytics, semantic layers, or AI-ready data platforms.
